Anna Badalyan: Embracing Innovation and Creativity at Fab Lab Armenia
Anna Badalyan’s story is about passion, innovation, resilience, and belief in a bright future for Armenia. Born and raised in the vibrant landscapes of Yerevan and the serene ambiance of Dilijan, Anna grew from a carefree child into a visionary who embraces her adventures and misadventures with equal zest.

Anna holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the Faculty of Marketing and Business Organization at the Armenian State University of Economics. Anna’s spirit has been fueled by a rich tapestry of experiences and knowledge that embraces the arts. Her earlier studies strongly focused on the arts and the creation process. Her career, a testament to her versatile talents, saw her transition from a Brand Manager role to an Art Director position. Along this journey, Anna’s life was woven with threads of fashion, art, psychology, and myriad other interests, painting her world in the hues of curiosity and boundless creativity.
However, her Manager and Experience Designer role at Fab Lab Armenia captures Anna’s dreams and aspirations. Here, amidst the hum of innovation and the spark of creativity, Anna found her calling. Motivated by the chance to explore creativity and innovation, she dedicated herself to nurturing Armenia’s creative minds, guiding them toward realizing their visions. The Fab lab became not just a workplace but a canvas for her to paint her dreams, witnessing the glow in the eyes of creators as they brought their ideas to life.
One of the projects that Anna is presently involved in curating and organizing is the renowned Fabricademy Bootcamp, which will be happening in Armenia from May 26 to June 1, 2024. This Bootcamp is the brainchild of Anastasia Pistofidou, Architect and Researcher in Digital Material and Manufacturing, who is a lead in the Fabricady movement. The Fabricademy Bootcamp takes place yearly and each time in a different country. This year, it will be at Fab Lab Armenia in Dilijan. The Bootcamp offers an immersive 7-day intensive course tailored for creatives, designers, educators, students, and digital fabrication experts. This comprehensive exploration of textile and clothing manufacturing systems presents participants with a dynamic array of cutting-edge possibilities.
The Bootcamp is led by a diverse team of technologists, textile and fashion designers, computational experts, and specialists from around the globe.
Anna Badalyan is thrilled to work with colleague Anoush Arshakyan, the Creative Content Developer at Fab Lab Armenia, to curate a unique experience of heads-in and hands-on on e-textile. The hands-on Bootcamp at Fab Lab Armenia is all about collaborative projects combined with insightful lectures discovering the world of innovation around us and within our own culture. The attendees will gain insights and skills, paving the way for groundbreaking advancements in textile technology. Our goal is to unlock the potential of participants and seed e-textile innovation in Armenia.
