Interim CEO
Fab Lab Armenia Education Foundation Dilijan

Jacqueline, in partnership with the MIT Center for Bits and Atoms, and The Central Bank of Armenia, helped bring the Fab Academy program along with two Fab Labs in Armenia. They are strategically located in Yerevan and Dilijan. The goal is to seed the culture of digital manufacturing in the country.

Fab Labs create the convergence of the natural and the built environment, with the digital environment. This means that increasingly the convergence of natural environment (land, water, air and life), the built environment (housing, buildings, transportation and infrastructure) and digital environment (computing power, the internet, big data, and technology) is shaping the economies and societies. Fab Labs are exponentially spreading all over the world . They prove to be more efficient and impactful when they are run by a critical number of Fab Academy fellows that are educated and trained by MIT Professor Niel Gershenfeld and his selected teaching faculty members. Together they create the new skilled work force for the digital economy.

Jacqueline Karaaslanian is leading the transition of the present Fab Lab Armenia Education Foundation Dilijan operation into a Community Innovation Center that supports academic and economic development in Armenia with a focus on Digital manufacturing.
