Fab Lab Armenia is a catalyst for Community-driven Innovation and Collaboration.
Fab Lab Armenia is one of 2,700 Fab Labs connected through the Fab Foundation Boston and the MIT Center for Bits and Atoms. It is equipped with various digital fabrication tools and technologies, such as 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, vinyl cutters, and electronics workstations. Our facilities are designed to provide individuals with access to modern manufacturing equipment, allowing them to create prototypes, develop products, and explore their creativity in a welcoming and collaborative environment.
The concept of Fab Labs was developed by Neil Gershenfeld at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the early 2000s as part of the Center for Bits and Atoms (CBA). Since then, the Fab Labs network has continuously spread worldwide and is already present across 125 countries.
Fab Labs are connected and actively support their local and global communities with shared resources in ideas and best practices. Fab Lab Armenia supports communities in several ways:
Access to Tools and Technology:
We provide access to expensive and advanced digital fabrication equipment that individuals might need help to afford or have access to otherwise.
We democratize the process of manufacturing and empower people to turn their ideas into tangible objects.
Education and Skill Development:
Our goal is to foster a culture of learning and innovation within the community.
At Fab Lab Armenia, we offer workshops, classes, and training sessions to teach people how to use various fabrication tools and software. This helps individuals develop new skills in design, engineering, and manufacturing.
Collaboration and Networking:
Fab Lab Armenia brings together people from diverse backgrounds, including artists, engineers, designers, educators, entrepreneurs, and hobbyists. By working alongside each other, individuals can share knowledge, collaborate on projects, and form connections that lead to new opportunities and ventures.
Prototyping and Innovation:
At Fab Lab Armenia we support innovation, invention and light manufacturing by providing a space where individuals can rapidly prototype and iterate on their ideas. Whether it’s developing a new product, improving an existing design, or experimenting with new materials, Fab Labs offer the resources needed to turn concepts into reality.
Community Engagement and Empowerment:
Fab Lab Armenia engages with local communities through outreach programs, events, bootcamps and collaborative initiatives. By involving people in the design and manufacturing process, we wish to empower individuals to become active participants in shaping their own environment and solving local challenges together.
Global Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Think globally and produce locally.
Fab Lab Armenia is part of a global network of connected Fab Labs through the Fab Foundation, enabling collaboration and knowledge sharing among labs worldwide. This facilitates the exchange of ideas, best practices, and projects, fostering a sense of global community and collective innovation.
